The salary range for this role is:

$15.50 - $48.08

Responsibilities:

Plans and coordinates activities that result in the procurement of goods and services, such as equipment, tools, parts, and supplies necessary for the operation of a tomato facility. Coordinate and maintain the implementation and ongoing relationship with national accounts and local suppliers. Responsibility for following and communicating Corporate MRO Purchasing Policies and Methodologies.

Analyze the cost of goods and services for both local and national account suppliers. Provide recommendations to internal plant customers and corporate MRO Purchasing to improve cost, quality, and service. Research, develop, and implement procedures and practices to comply with corporate and local purchasing policies. Responsible for maintaining both the corporate and local Purchase Order databases.

PRINCIPAL CONTINUING RESPONSIBILITIES IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE:

Process Purchase Orders:

  • Coordinate all activities that result in the procurement of goods and services. Responsibilities include set up and maintenance of vendor files with Corporate AP, solicitation of quotes, analysis of requisitions, entering of purchase orders in local and corporate systems, communication with suppliers, follow-up on delivery, and Accounts Payable issues.
  • Assist with the coordination of activities for the Purchasing Clerks involved with the procurement of goods and services.
  • Processes Purchase Order Requisitions. Includes obtaining product specifications or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule, selecting vendors and awarding bids.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains purchasing procedures for compliance with Corporate and local policies.
  • Directs and coordinates activities that result in control and accuracy of purchasing records and inventory.
  • Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, and product quality or performance in the local database.
  • Coordinate between the Maintenance and Accounting Departments in order to ensure appropriate controls are in place.
  • Create Purchase Orders in the Corporate Purchasing system.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all EAM-related matters. Ongoing creation and maintenance of EAM SOP to align with purchasing guidelines and policies.
  • Works with corporate Accounts Payable to resolve various invoice discrepancy issues and purchase-order-related concerns.
  • Work with Storeroom personnel to maintain adequate available goods.
  • Assists various departments in any purchasing or related concerns, and attends departmental activities, meetings, etc. Other duties, as deemed necessary to support business operations.


Document Contractor Compliance

  • Generate, mail, and track letters to contractors.
  • Maintain documentation involving certificates or insurance, signed contractor agreements


Document Ingredient Compliance (as needed basis)

  • Generate, mail, and track letters to ingredient suppliers.
  • Maintain documentation involving certificates of insurance, letters of guarantee, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Kosher Certificates, HACCP Plans, Letters documenting Food Security/ Safety measures, allergen statements.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 year Purchasing Experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in SAP, Excel, Access, and MS Word required.
  • AA in Business or Accounting preferred
