Job Description
Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an associate with 4-8 years of experience to join our Renewable Energy and/or Energy Transition development and finance practices in our San Diego, Los Angeles, or Houston offices. Qualified candidates must have broad experience with renewable energy and/or energy transition matters, particularly within solar, wind, storage, and other renewable energy areas or hydrogen, carbon, renewable fuels and other energy transition areas.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in representing and advising on matters relating to complex development and finance transactions, including equity and debt financing; merger and acquisitions transaction; and negotiating and drafting project documents including EPC and BOP contracts, equipment procurement agreements, O&M agreements, and similar agreements. Strong drafting and project management skills are required.

We have a thriving energy practice with aggressive growth plans, and we are seeking a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated associate, who is comfortable working with large and varied multi-disciplinary transactional teams across offices and with direct interaction with both senior attorneys and clients. Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and an exceptional work ethic, coupled with a desire to be part of a fast-paced, growing, and collaborative environment are required. Chinese language skills are a plus.

To be considered, a candidate must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the California State Bar or Texas State Bar, as applicable. Pursuant to the CA Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act, the expected salary range for this position is between $290,000 - $420,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
